This is the infamous black oil sunflower, which you may have read about online. This variety has numerous uses. It is a high value bird feed with a high fat content, and is a valuable and nutricious food for people when sprouted and served as micro greens. The sprouts have high levels of phosphorus, potassium, iron, calcium and other trace minerals.
