Butterbean Soybean

85 to 90 days — ‘Butterbean’ soy plants are strong, grow fifteen to thirty inches tall, and are stocky. It is very prolific producing lots of pods each containing an average of three large, large, round, bright green beans each. ‘Butterbean’ was developed for fresh eating. The flavor is somewhat sweet tasting making them a good substitute for Lima beans when picked at the stage when the pods are filled and just begin to turn yellow. Excellent in succotash but when picked a bit earlier, a great choice for use as edamame. Our original seed source was soybean preservationist, Chris Martin (CO MA C). Each packet contains 25 to 30 seeds.
