A 2022 Victory Seed Company Introduction
85 to 90 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of ‘Dwarf Oriole’ reach four to five feet tall and are very productive. The fruit are smooth skinned, oblate shaped, six to twenty ounces each, and bright pale orange in color. Many fruit will show a lovely, pale pink core. They have an intense, well balanced flavor and lovely juicy texture, truly a wonderful slicing tomato and the regular leaf sister tomato to ‘Dwarf Tanager‘.
Emerging from the Dwarf Tomato Project’s “Fancy” family, ‘Dwarf Oriole’ was selected by Susan Oliverson and named by Craig LeHoullier, with the lead fruit type grown by Caitlin LeHoullier. Additional contributors to this release are Craig LeHoullier and Bill Minkey. It was introduced by the Victory Seed Company in 2022 who is still working on its stability. An occasional regular leaf indeterminate plant can occur but they are easily observed in the seedling stage and can be discarded. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
