80 days, dwarf — The rugose, regular leaf plants of ‘Dwarf Purple Heartthrob’ are prolific. Its fruit are four to ten ounces each, strongly heart-shaped, and purple in color with nearly metallic looking green stripes. The interior is a rich burgundy crimson with a well balanced, very classically tomato-ey and delicious flavor.

The first named release from the promising and colorful “Hearty” family, the primary development work was carried out by Vince Lavalle, Bill Yoder and Craig LeHoullier (and named by Bill and Craig). Breeding contributors are Dan Follett, Ted Maiden, Mickey Pasco-Powell, Susan Oliverson, Heide Dolan, John Cook, and Bill Minkey. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
