84 days, indeterminate — These gigantic, pink, heart-shaped tomatoes ranged from thirteen to thirty-two ounces! Here in Oregon they did seem to be a bit prone to vertical cracking late in the season but this did not affect their use. Most of the fruit have prominent points on the blossom ends.
‘Giant Heart Climber’ is an old family heirloom sent to us by Ben McKiver of Manitoba, Canada. Mr. McKiver wrote, “I am enclosing some tomato seeds that my grandfather cultivated every year until he passed away in 1992. We always called them “Giant Heart Climbers.” Growing these tomatoes as a child, we had one that made the front page of the local newspaper (Cornwall, Ontario) that weighed 5 lbs. 6 oz. Also when supported, we’ve had plants achieve heights in excess of ten feet.“
Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
