‘Hill Island’ is a “cigar filler” type tobacco. The plants grow to about fifty-six inches tall when topped, or can reach six feet when allowed to flower.
Its leaves have a slightly puckered surface and are broadest at the middle and narrower at the two equal ends, with the length approximately twice the width. Typical leaves are twelve inches wide by twenty-three inches long.
Our seed originated from USDA accession number PI 552658 and is grown for us by David Pendergrass from Tennessee.
