70 days, determinate — ‘Salsa’ matures early in the season and is very productive. Its fruit are globe-shaped, uniform in size, weigh about six ounces each, are bright red in color, solid, and tasty. As the name implies, its flesh to juice ratio is perfect for making fresh salsa.
We don’t know a lot about this variety’s history other than we purchased our original seed back in the late 1990s from the now defunct, Carolina Seed Company of Boone, North Carolina. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
