85 days, dwarf — A mid-season variety that has stout, central stems, grows to three feet tall, and has dark green, rugose, regular leaf foliage. The fruit are smooth and round to oblate in shape, ranging from three to six ounces, and ripen to a chocolate-mahogany color (the color is similar to that of ‘Cherokee Chocolate‘ or ‘Paul Robeson‘). Flavor is well balanced and pleasant. ‘Sleeping Lady’ seems to be particularly prolific in comparison with many other “Dwarf Tomato Project” varieties.

The variety was selected by Sherry Shiesl of Alaska. She named it after the local “Legend of the Sleeping Lady.” ‘Sleeping Lady’ is a selection made from the “Dwarf Tomato Project’s” “Grumpy family” (‘Budai Torpe’ and ‘Black from Tula‘, cross made in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small of Australia). Introduced in 2011. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
