Japanese Bunching Onion
Allium fistulosum
95 days — A good selection as a fresh market bunching variety of onion. The white stalks of ‘Tokyo Long White Bunching’ onions are upright, uniform and are slightly pungent in taste. They reportedly show a strong tolerance to Pink Root Rot (PRR) and smut. Can be used for fresh eating as a garnish or on a veggie platter, or used in any recipe calling for green onions.
A good summer and fall variety but often do not over winter well. Each packet contains one gram, which is about 200 seeds.
